1. Still thinking about the Goat   (03 Oct 2008)
So, I've got my heart set on getting a gto as a play car. I'm hoping to convince my wife during the dead of winter... Two routes. Number 1 is go 5.7 with supercharger or go 6.0 without. Thoughts? What would you do? Love the brazen orange color...

2. What do you think about a bent center electrode?   (06 Oct 2008)
So I got out with a friend of mine tonight bowling..Monday night thing and Im headin home and there is this 04 Cobra that is acting like he wants some. So I give it to him and he roasts my ass. Oh did I tell you I was in my 08 Malibu (hey its 252 hp and 6sp auto). The reason I was a lil upset is cus I usually take the good old Maggied Goat out on Mondays but this time I didn't. (the Cobra seemed stock since when I saw him go there is no doubt the Goat would have eaten him up). So here is the par...

3. November Southeast Goat Hunt   (10 Oct 2008)
I'm thinking about goat hunting during Thanksgving this year. I've heard that the colder it gets the lower the goats are. I've even heard they come down to the coast. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience when hunting goats this late? I was planning on boating to Misty Fjords and climbing up the punch bowl cove trail.

4. Anyone know much about goats?   (08 Nov 2008)
We're thinking about getting a pygmy Goat. Feeding and care for the goat isn't a big deal I'm just trying to figure out how were going to keep the little guy around. I have 3 horses and 2 pastures, both with 3 strands and electric fence. What are the odds of the goat staying in the fence? I really don't want to tie him up and I don't want to fence him in either. Anyone know much about goats? will they stick around as long as there's food around or will they wander?

5. Kodiak for goats   (08 Nov 2008)
Hello everyone, I am doing some research before I apply for my goat permits and was thinking about Kodiak. I've never hunted there before, but it seems like there is a higher chance of being drawn for a permit so I thought I'd look into it. A couple of questions: How good is the goat hunting down there? What is the best way to access the hunting areas, by plane or boat. Recommend any charters? What are the better areas (don't need any secrets, just which areas to avoid). Obviously goats live in...

6. Montana mountain goat   (10 Oct 2008)
I don't post here a bunch, but have learned a lot from "Backpack Hunting" at the Campfire. I posted this on another board, but thought I would share some pics and my experience here as well. Thanks to those that share information and opinions in this section. Anyway, I was lucky enough to draw a MT goat tag this year and had a fulfilling hunt. I am not much for storytelling, but obviously not afraid to throw out lots of pics.:D For those of you that don’t want to wade through a bunch of pics to...

7. My first Mountain Goat feel free to critique   (08 Oct 2008)
Please tell me what you think about my first mtn. goat.

8. Pacesetter Goats   (04 Nov 2008)
I've heard a few negative things about Pacesetter headers so I thought I'd ask the people that actually have them about them. Do the coated ones hold up well as far as rusting and whatnot? They are budget friendly and most likely the ones I will be able to afford eventually unless I hear bad stories from actual Goat owners with Pacesetters. I don't see the need to spend more if you get just about the same results with this cheaper alternative. Also I don't see justification on replacing the exha...

9. Talk to me about brush clearing and goats   (10 Oct 2008)
We have probably 2.5ish acres of woods. Mainly black walnuts, trees of heaven, and millions (well seems like it) of pricker and poison bushes. Now...I like the wooded area, and while I don't want to completely get rid of it, I want it useable. I'd actually love to put a little cross country course through it. Problem...first trees of heaven spread like mating bunnies. Knock one down, 50 appear in its place. We have a walk behind bush hog we started the work with, b/c it was too thick to get the...

10. Goat Hunt Report   (14 Oct 2008)
Well, guys, I made my way from Atlanta to the Land of the Midnight Sun on the 1st of October to hunt goats with Muskeg Excursions, out of Ketchikan . I had an uneventful day of travel, and was met by Johnnie Laird at the airport, and got snuggled in at the Gilmore Hotel in Ketchikan. I met another couple of goat hunters that were hunting with a guide out of Ketchikan, too. That night I met up with Bobby and Hunter the guide and packer. Bob and I hunted goats previously in 2003, so it was good to...
