Need opinions about keeper league rule

I'm taking over as the commish in league that needs a rule clarified going into next season. Each season, teams can keep from 4 to 7 players, and they can keep a player up to 3 seasons. The 4th season they go back into the free agent pool to be drafted. Fairly simple and straightforward so far.
The question involves trading keepers and whether to reset their 'kept' years or what I call their keeper contract after a trade. Currently, I'm of the opinion that a player with a keeper contract should...

I'm in a 12 team league, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR. I'm 4-1 and 2nd in my division, but have struggled the last two weeks and need to make a change.
I have -
QB - P. Manning, A. Rodgers
RB - L. Johnson, Slaton, McGahee, Rhodes
WR - S. Moss, Housh, Boldin, Chad Johnson, K. Walter
I am considering offering Rodgers to two different teams to get a better RB.
First trade - Rodgers for Portis (he has Romo and V. Young as QBs).
Second trade - Rodgers and McGahee/Rhodes/Johnson/Walter for Delhomme and LT/R...

Is this show any good? I watched Season 1 and some of Season 2 when it was just called "Justice League" and I found it rather boring.
But I heard it got a face lift when the name change. So I am thinking about buying the DvD's and watching it and was just wondering if it was worth my time.

I've decided to create my own league, one that mirrors the most glorious region of Kanto. I'm pretty sure we've all been tired of leagues that believe that originality results in interesting gyms. I for one doubt that, I believe that simplicity is key when creating a league. League's that focus on multi-type teams or move-only teams just become so uneven.
