Eight years ago, when John McCain lost the GOP nomination to George W. Bush, a lot of reasonable liberals and reasonable conservatives were disheartened. The better man lost. No, scratch that; the way better man lost.

...seriously. i found this on my computer, from a period of time when i started a lot of thing but never really got anywhere. i think this one showed some promise. i can't remember what was supposed to happen next though. i'd appreciate some opinions.

Now, to begin, I always thought of Mark Cuban as a douchebag, but that is because I am not a Mavs fan, and don't really like the way he conducts himself as an owner, being on the outside, looking in at him. I'm sure that I may feel differently if I was a Mavs fan. But, I have always given him some props for being what appears to be someone who truly does care about his team.

Uh-oh...I got carried away. Word Count: 2100. This has gone beyond prompt and morphed into short story. This was completely unanticipated, but I'm feeling good about it. The degree of fun that I had writing this is probably unchartable. I made it up as I went along, and the story just wrote itself up to 2100 words. If you have as good a time reading it as I did writing it, then I'll count it as a complete success!
